PAST NEWS & EVENTS
Remember the good times
Have a look below at some of the past events, news, and announcements that have happened at the club over the years.
This section may be looking a little bare at the moment, but not to worry our volunteers are working hard to calatogue some of the great history of this club, and we hope to be able to share it with you here soon.
Get Your Racquet On: Open Court Sessions
Always said you would like to get back into tennis? Not sure how or where or if you are good enough? We understand it is intimidating and scary starting something new -- or taking it up again for the first time in a long time! Open Court Sessions are designed for everyone -- even if you've never held a racquet before -- to experience the fun tennis. You don't need to bring any equipment we will have it all ready for you. Inspired by Rafa? Your tennis journey starts (again) with Open Court Sessions. We promise you'll have a great time!
Going for around 90-minutes, you’ll have a 10-minute warm-up, 50-minutes of tennis activities and 30-minutes of socialising. On court, you'll play different tennis activities including tennis on smaller courts, Pickleball and triples on a full size court. Off court, you'll make new friends over a drink or a bite to eat.
Equipment Grants from the City of Canning
Corinthian Park Tennis Club would like to thank the City of Canning for the grants received both to assist us in upgrading net posts, and to promote the well being of our members. The grants were used for mats, foam rollers, massage balls with a laminated instruction poster, and $2000 has enabled us to replace 10 net posts.
The City of Canning has always been, and continues to be, a great supporter of our club. Special thanks to Stephen Addenbrooke and Neil Morrison for sourcing a suitable contractor and transporting the posts. Very much appreciated.
2020 Club Championships
A really good weekend all round. Although only a small entry with the main championship events only we had a very high standard of tennis all weekend along with very good social play and excellent crowds watching. Saturday filled all the courts and still had another 20 to 30 watching while Sunday less playing, but great to see a big crowd watching and staying back. A couple of big thank you’s from me - Sharon Massey on Saturday helping so much on the board and then with afternoon tea with Maureen before playing (I told you a couple of early wines would help with the back Sharon) and on Sunday big thanks to PK for cooking all the snaggers and especially to my lovely wife Brontie for the savouries. And to all the others, mainly Alan Lees for a great job with the sponsors we have and doing the bar on Sunday night. (He even shared some with the customers!) Really good weekend and the tournament was played in great spirit. Sorry to those I missed. Lots on.
All the results are included with mother and son Potter taking all the spoils. Catch up with Trent he has drink, pubs and food vouchers aplenty!
